- Plans will deliver much needed new housing supply to Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown area
- Approval adds to over 300 homes under construction in Cherrywood Village
- Breaking ground in second half of this year and planning to complete first phase of construction by May 2024
Quintain Ireland has received planning permission from Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council for 488 new homes at its Cherrywood Village development in South Dublin. Quintain intends to commence construction on the development in June with the first homes ready for occupation mid- 2024.
The 488 new homes will be next to Laughanstown LUAS station, and close to Tully Park, Cherrywood Educate Together National School, and a new secondary school.
Quintain plans to deliver a total of 1,300 new homes at Cherrywood Village by 2025. The recently approved scheme will comprise a mixture of 427 apartments, and 61 duplexes and triplexes.
Along with the new homes there is provision for over 4,300 m² of communal amenity space for residents across a series landscaped courtyards and roofs. There is also provision for over 7,000 m² of public open space, including a neighbourhood plaza, two pocket parks, and extra cycle and pedestrian paths.
Cherrywood Village aims to be the most connected village in Ireland and is located on a 65-acre site within the Cherrywood Strategic Development Zone (SDZ). It includes 27 acres of green space, and over 4,300m² of retail and civic amenities. It is also located close to major employers like Vodafone and Microsoft in Sandyford, and Dell and Elavon in Cherrywood Science and Technology Park.
Quintain has received over 7000 expressions of interest from prospective residents since launching Cherrywood Village in October 2020.
Demand is strong for all types of housing in the Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown area, which this additional supply will help meet. Cherrywood Village is going to be a vibrant community with over 27 acres of public space and amenities and facilities on residents’ doorsteps. Quintain is also progressing construction on a €500m urban centre in Adamstown, which will include 279 apartments, as part of their plans to deliver over 9,000 homes around the greater Dublin area.
